In 2021, Patidar was purchased by RCB ahead of the IPL auction. While his debut season was relatively quiet, he burst onto the scene in IPL 2022 with a stunning unbeaten 112 off 54 balls against the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator fixture. This remarkable achievement made him the first-ever uncapped player to score a century in the IPL playoffs.
